Judo (meaning "Gentle Way") is a martial art that was created in Japan by Professor Jigoro Kano in 1882. Judo focuses on throws and grappling techniques to subdue opponents, with an emphasis on physical fitness, mental discipline, and sportsmanship. The sport is practiced in most countries around the world and is also one of the few martial arts featured in the Olympics.
Judo principals "Maximum Efficiency, Minimum Effort" and "Mutual Welfare and Benefit" are taught throughout our training sessions.
Our mission is to teach traditional Judo. We shall strive to provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds, ages, and skill levels. The Dojo will teach its members Judo principles to develop their physical and mental abilities, so that they may in turn benefit their families and communities.
